History

The hill of Conca di Sotto has been occupied since medioeval times. Of the antique monastery that predates the villa the romanic chapel remains. The stone well on the terrace in front of the villa dates from 14th century. The main house ,that once belonged to the ancient Cittadella family, was enlarged by the current owners when they  inherited the property. The many rural buildings surrounding the villa, that are now used for guests, were constructed in the 19th century, when the valley around Viareggio was converted into agricultural plots that are still today functioning.
